🗽 New York City:

  • Buy a $34 Unlimited MetroCard. This way you wont be spending extra cash on cabs.
  • Stay in Brooklyn or Queens as rent prices are a lot more cheaper than Manhattan. Queens & Brooklyn are close to Manhattan and are connected.
  • Get free Wifi every where through LinkNYC kiosks to stay connected, charge phones, and navigate.
  • Use Google Maps for tracking Subway Timings and platform information.
  • Queens has the best Asian, Middle Eastern, and Latin food joints. You can get proper meals for less than $10!
  • Always carry your student ID, it gets you discounts and free admission in some places.

🏙️ Dubai

  • Eat in Old Dubai as meals like shawarma, thalis, falafel, and Iranian kebabs cost between $3–5.
  • Use the metros, buses, trams and water buses for extremely cheap rates with one rechargeable card. A nol card costs $1 and money can later be added via the nol app, nol kiosks or metro counters.
  • Metro rush hours range from 7–9am and 5–7pm. Plan around them for a smoother ride.
  • Use apps like Careem, RTA Smart Drive, Talabat, noon and Google Maps for food, transport, and directions.
  • Look for Student Rates on Attractions, The Burj Khalifa, Dubai Frame, and other museums often have student discounts.
  • Buy Electronics with your student ID for exclusive discounts.
